I wish Peter Jennings (ABC), Bill Maher (ABC) Dan Rather
(CBS) and Tom Brokaw would all GET FIRED and clear their desks -- they
are poison to our ears.I am extremly tired of listening to lies these
idiots spew with their own personal and bias opinions. The American
people have tolerated these liberal nuts for TOO TOO long and the nation
is more divided than ever(thanks to Bill Clinton and his coorupt administation!).
Democrats have killed the US and I vow to choose the moderate republican
ticket from now on.

Patriotism-
I am appalled that people are ashamed to show that they
are patriotic. Aren't you an American every minute of everyday? Don't
you enjoy the freedoms and rewards of living in a free democratic society
every minute of every day of your life? Why is it that people can only
wear a red, white, and blue ribbon, or display Our Flag for one or two
days, and hold a candle in a ceremony once and then pass by the practice?
I will wear my ribbon with pride for as long as it takes to support
those people who serve us in any capacity to keep as safe and free.
I will light a candle every night in memory of this of those lost, and
those who will follow to preserve our American way of life.
I can tell you that in Massachusetts more people than
not do not exhibit a patriotic pride for their country. You see more
pick-up trucks with American Flags, or messages of support on them than
any other vehicle. Too bad those driving all those other expensive imports
can't trouble themselves to place the Flag on their vehicle. They profited
from our free economy well enough to drive the most expensive vehicles
on the road, but won't display anything on their showpieces.
Don't whine about not being able to find a flag, you should
have owned one in the first place. Anyone can print a paper copy off
the internet, it only takes a little time and effort. Maybe that is
part of the problem, you are too removed from the effort of caring and
showing it. Some towns to their credit have Our American Flag hanging
at almost every residence, but they are the exception rather than the
rule. One man painted an American Flag on the entire side of his panel
truck.
Don't be a lazy American, take the time to care, and show
it. Teachyour children what the symbol of our country means in our common
American history. Yes we must move forward with our lives, but we should
never forget what our freedom means to us and much of the rest of the
world. Thank-you, and God Bless America!
Sincerely, Sarah

I believe the airline industry should bear much of the
responsibility for our nation's recent tragedy because it did not provide
the security necessary to prevent such an event. We have experienced
numerous worldwide hijackings for years, plus the newer wrinkle called
air-rage. Nevertheless, both airplane physical structures and the security
provided on-board have essentially remained the same for decades. My
understanding, according the latest issue of the U.S. News and World
Report, is that the industry leaders have rejected security-enhancing
modifications and procedures in the past because of the perceived high
expense. I certainly hope our nuclear power industry does not operate
with this same philosophy.
The airline industry executives should feel a personal responsibility
for what happened. The executives of the major carriers are primarily
at fault because they set the precedent. Before this tragedy, when they
knew there was a problem, they did not take a hard stance when they
had the opportunity to do so. I believe these people, when they receive
federal funds, should voluntarily take a major pay cut / sacrifice their
personal financial compensation. I have heard no talk from them along
these lines.
What do you think?

1) I can't believe Annie Lebovitz has the verve to say
she doesn't like Bush because of his "euphemisms" and folksy
manner. I don't really care if Bush isn't the greatest communicator.
Bill Clinton may be a better communicator, but all he ever did
is talk, well that, and screw around a lot!
I'd rather have someone in office that will tackle the problem head
on rather than drop a bomb on an aspirin factory and forget about following
through.
2) Once we track down the money sources for the terrorist groups, and
or governments responsible, is there any way that the U.S. insurance
carriers for the WTC buildings, the victims families and the government
(for the Pentagon) can stake restitution claims against these funds?
If so, we could clean them out, as the damages would more than likely
far exceed the amounts of their holdings?

I listened yesterday with a mixture of humor, anger, frustration,
and sadness to your conversation with the man who called in to announce
that he and his group were "declaring peace" in the light
of our government's announcement of possible military strikes against
terrorists. Part of me is incredulous that this could be starting already,
while we are still raw from the wounds of last week. Part of me was
already braced for this expression of sentiment. I would like to make
some points based on my reaction to that call.
1) His statements reminded me a lot of the Vietnam era slogan, "What
if there was a war and nobody came." What a nice idea. However,
I've never known of a war that actually worked that way. The ones I've
read about started with an aggressor. If the other side showed up, the
aggressor either retreated, or stayed to fight. If the other side didn't
show up, the aggressor kept coming until he had taken everything he
wanted. That's why they are called aggressors. They have one of 2 objectives:
They either want what the other side has, and if they meet no resistance,
they will take it; or, they don't want the other side to have the privileges
and prosperity the other side has always enjoyed, so the aggressor attempts
to destroy them.
For a long time now, Americans have bought into the idea that if we're
just nice enough to someone, they will suddenly become nice too. We
have done our best to rationalize every evil act as the consequence
of someone not being nice to the perspetrator at some point in his life.
We have decided that, in the event that someone is mean to us, even
if we have been nice, we should figure out what we did to make that
person be mean to us, because it must be our fault. By all means, We
should NEVER do anything that might make them be mean to us again.
No matter how many times we're bitten, there is always someone out there
trying to reform rattle snakes. Be nice to the rattle snake; it will
turn into a teddy bear. Right. A rattlesnakes will always be a rattlesnake.
You either keep it out of your vicinity, or you take measures to keep
it from biting you. You can't show it enough love to change its nature.
Ted Bundy commits mass murder and someone blames it on his terrible
childhood. It was someone else's fault. Terrorists attempt to destroy
our country. It's because the United States was mean to them in the
past; we need to be nicer. We blame it on the terrorists' poverty. How
poor is Osama Bin Laden? He inherited hundred of millions of dollars,
which he has used to finance terror. I don't feel sorry for him.
The truth remains that there are countless people who had truly miserable
childhoods who managed to grow up and not kill anyone. Likewise, there
are millions of people in this world who are impoverished and have not
hijacked airplanes and run them through the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
The first murder that I know of as being documented occurred in the
Old Testament. Cain murdered Abel, and it wasn't because Cain was impoverished,
or because Abel was directing air strikes at him. It was because Cain
was jealous of Abel, and in his bitterness, he committed murder. It
was a character flaw in Cain's personality that caused him to disregard
human life. It is the same with criminals and terrorists.
2) To piggyback on this a little, the man's reasoning was out of whack
anyway. From the advice I've read regarding how to deal with attackers
and personal self-defense, the experts are now saying that the best
thing you can do during an attack is to fight back, even to your own
death. If you give in, or do nothing, you're probably going to die anyway.
I think the same principal applies.
3) Pit bull dogs are bred to be killers. Anyone will tell you that,
once a pit bull dog gets that killer instinct, it's virtually impossible
to get it out of them. The only way to protect society from that killer
is to put the dog away. When we see pictures of Palestinian children
cheering on TV in celebration over this terrorist attack, we can see
that many people have been carefully conditioned over time to hate us.
They are the pit bull dogs of our world. No matter what we do, it will
be difficult to change that conditioning. Meanwhile, we had better protect
our society.
4) For peace overtures to have any effect, it would seem to me that
you would have to be making them toward those who value peace. Anyone
who would hijack 4 civilian aircraft, assault and murder passengers,
and fly those planes into buildings holding more than 50,000 people
in a country that has made no attack on them, is not interested in and
does not value "peace." Peace-loving people refrain from acts
such as these.
5) Finally, I am the wife of an Army officer, and I can tell him (you
already know) that if you want to find real advocates for peace, go
to a military installation. This is where you find the men and women
who have the most to lose anytime the military is called into action.
The general public doesn't realize how much these men and women risk
on a daily basis, just to train to be ready for the call. I just got
my husband back from 6 months in Kosovo where he was sent to "keep
the peace" in the middle of Kosovo's own brand of terrorists who
from time to time respected peace so much that they lobbed bottle rockets
and grenades at their own people, and at our military! Don't talk to
me about "declaring peace." However, if this country is serious
about declaring war, I pray that we will declare it totally and that
our society will stay behind it. My husband loves this country enough
that he is willing to pay the ultimate price so that our children don't
eventually have to. It terrifies me, but I think I can support him in
this if the rest of the country does. However, I don't want to see him
risking everything to protect "peace declarers" who will likely
be headed off to Canada anyway if and when things get tough.
Thank you, so much for speaking truth to this guy. I don't always agree
with everything you say, but I admire the fact that you'll say the hard
things when no one else will.
God bless,
Judy

An open letter to America
Volga, South Dakota. It has been a week since it happened.
We have absorbed everything about it except why. Why did they do it?
What did we do to them? Why do they hate us? As we struggle to make
sense of it, even Dan Rather on David Letterman cannot articulate the
reason.
Here is the reason. They hate us because they are dying,
literally and figuratively, and they (wrongly) blame us for killing
them. Their culture and religion and way of life, as those few fanatics
see it and live it, is dead, and rather than change with the living,
they have chosen to literally and figuratively die. The way of life
that they idealize is 1,400 years old, going back to Muhammad, the prophet
of Islam. They dont want that way of life to change. They cannot
function or even fathom living any other way. And so, to them, this
really is a life or death struggle. If they cant continue to exist
in the old ways, they dont want to/cant exist at all.
And so their leaders have constructed a simple idea to
motivate them. The next life is much better. You should sacrifice
yourself to get to the next life, and destroy the Great Satan or as
many of them as you can on the way. This is what Bin Laden and
others teach their people. They are dead already, and somewhere deep
within the recesses of their existence, they know it. And so they go
to their deaths gladly, taking as many of the Great Satan with them
as they can.
We have become the Great Satan to them because we epitomize
everything that is alive and vital and changing in life. The secret
of American existence and power and wealth and success is that we have
unleashed the human spirit in all our people. Our fore fathers and mothers
came here to get away from things they hated in their home lands. They
were religious minorities in their own countries, and they hated it.
They said, Never again. They determined to find a new land
where they could worship in freedom and peace.
They were too poor to go to school, or send their children
to school, in their home lands. And even if they could somehow find
the money, they could not gain admission, since the elite controlled
admission. And they could not protest through the political system.
They didnt have the right to vote. They were not land owners,
or wealthy, and so they had no voice. But when they came to America,
they said, Never again. You see, the entire world, before
America a few hundred years ago, was feudal. A few powerful families
and entities controlled every government and tribe in the world. They
had absolute power, and they refused to share it with anyone other than
themselves.
The beauty of America is that we took all these horrors
and prohibited them. We enshrined their opposites in our Bill of Rights.
We unchained the human spirit. We did not know at the time what we had
done. We still barely comprehend what we have done. But we, and the
rest of the world, can see the results. We are the wealthiest, the most
powerful, the most creative, the most tolerant, the most innovative,
people and society and culture in human existence. We have stumbled
upon a socio-political-economic system that not only allows but encourages
the best in people to come out. That is the essence of Francis Fukuyamas
book The End of History and the Last Man (a must read).
He wonderfully and creatively describes our economic and
political systems and explains why they represent the end products of
the evolution of human economic and political systems. While Im
not quite sure our system cant evolve even more, to an even better
way of living, I cant argue that that may just be tinkering at
the edges. We have tapped into the power of individuals living in community.
It is an awesome thing. And the people of the world, the young people
of the world, the entrepreneurs of the world, want it. Thats why
they risk death to get here. And thats why we need to continue
to keep our borders open and our immigration quotas high. Only those
with the most drive and determination make it here. They are the best
and brightest of the world. They bring the best of the human spirit
to us every day. We need their spirit and energy and craving for freedom
to continue our pattern of growth and creativity and change.
The whole world envies our freedoms and our successes.
They want it, too, but are afraid of losing their own culture and way
of life in the process. And so they envy us. They resent the fact that
their young people want to look like Americans, dress like Americans,
eat like Americans, BE Americans. And for the few that are terrorists,
they hate us so much that they are willing to die, and take all of us
down with them, if they could. That is the essence of Samuel P. Huntingtons
book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order (another
must read). He explains that all our wars in this century will be because
of clashes between civilizations, not between nations per se.
And he is right. They will continue to come at us for
a long time, because their children will continue to come to us. They
will come at us from other backgrounds than Islam. They will come from
wherever the walking dead exist. They are the cancer cells of the body
of humanity. As we all know, cancer can destroy the entire body if we
are not wise in how we treat it. We cannot blast away, as the cancer
cells live within the human body, and we will destroy the healthy cells
as well as the cancer cells when we blast away. We must isolate the
cancer cells and starve them off. We must destroy the cancer cells without
destroying the healthy cells next to them. Our political and military
leaders should speak with our cancer researchers and specialists and
use that medical knowledge to assist us in our fight against the cancer
of the terrorists.
We need every weapon at out disposal. Our best weapons
are our intelligence, our creativity, our ability to look outside the
box to find solutions, our unwillingness to rush to judgment, our refusal
to become like them. We cannot be killed as long as we hold to the IDEA
that is America the idea that every human being has value, that
every human being should be free to make the best of his or her life
that he or she can, the idea that having done our best, we deserve to
reap the rewards of having done our best. And the rewards are great.
Our IDEA of America has so much power because it is the
idea of life itself. We are life and vitality and change, more so than
any other country or culture or political system. We are the genie that
popped out of the bottle of the old world order, and we have changed
that order irrevocably and forever. The genie cannot be put back in
the bottle. Those who chose life will always chose the IDEA of America,
because it is life itself. The terrorists and all who believe as they
do and all who support them are the walking dead. They have doomed themselves
because they have chosen death. They are death.
And so they must hate us. We are killing them. We are
killing an old and outmoded way of thinking and living that has to die.
There is a better way. We have found that better way. The world sees
that we have found a better way. The IDEA of America gives humanity
a choice it never had before we came to be. Is it any wonder that the
world embraces our choice, and turns away from the chains of the past?
We are reaping the rewards of having found a better way. We are willing
to share that better way with anyone who wants it and will work for
it. The world is choosing our IDEA, and walking away from the societies
and cultures that do not provide for human freedom and human potential.
We are not perfect. We make mistakes. We must always work
to be better. We have become complacent. We have let go of the concept
of excellence, and we have defined the merely adequate as
excellent, because we dont want to hurt anyones
feelings. But excellence is a thing of life. We cannot change what it
takes to be excellent by changing the definition. The last lesson for
us out of this tragedy is that we must again insist upon excellence,
in our intelligence organizations, in our schools, in our workplaces,
in our government agencies, in our lives. Sloppy thinking and sloppy
work habits breeds mediocrity. We cannot win this battle with mediocrity.
We must be at our best.
We will win this battle, because we are the best. We are
life itself. We are fully human and free to be and proud of it. We will
keep the cancer of terrorism at bay. We will keep the body of humanity
alive and well and thriving. We are Americans.
Ellie M. VandenBerg, Esquire

I am sooo thankful that our modern artists were not watching
the night that Francis Scott Key penned our country's National Anthem.
Whhoaa , were we spared. I'm afraid it would have consisted of one possibly
two lines of nothing but drivel. Next to the great Amazing Grace that
has been in the fore front of late, our artists revealed their total
lack of Holy Spirit, hence their immense lack of creativity. As an aside
please tell Tom Hanks that I am not teaching my children his version
of the pledge of Allegiance -"...one nation indivisible..."
We still use that three letter word here .."one nation under God,
indivisible..." Dan Rather used the devoid version too just before
the special began. Too bad-so sad.Where on earth do they think that
Amazing Grace comes from ?????? Love to you and yours,

This my first attempt at communicating with you although
I have been listening to your show several hours a week for many years.I
very often do not agree with you but I love the way you deliver your
point of view. I and many other Canadians were deeply hurt that the
president made no mention of our country and the help and support we
gave.
We were the very first country to render any form of direct
assistance to the USA. Within a few hours of the attack we allowed into
our air space and accepted dozens of American aircraft at our airports
putting aside the thought that one of these could also be a flying bomb.We
housed and fed thousands of American passengers and crew because we
cared. We did not wait for the government or media to tell us to give
blood or send in volunteers or pray.
However, no matter the snub we felt, we would do it again
because you are our friends. I having lived in the USA for a number
of years and I am quite aware that too many Americans do not even know
where Canada is.

How's this as an alias for the monster: "Ol' Sammy
bin Rotten" or "Ol' Sammy bin Bad 'un"
* * *
My husband is a Northwest airline pilot. He has worked
for the company for over 23 years. He is simply amazed at the lengths
airport security is taking to assure passengers of their safety. I say
this factiously- he has had his nail clippers and mustache scissors
taken away. Today when leaving New York City he had his razor blades
taken away. Much to his dismay, they would not budge on the removal
of the razor blades. But, have now fear, once he had passed through
security, he ran straight to the gift shop and bought some more? Go
figure? He even could have bought a replica of the Empire State building
with a very sharp and protruding end on it? How absurd can we get?
I may be naive, but is there a level of terrorism? Is
the terrorism that is prevalent in Northern Ireland really terrorism?
Is the level in the region of the Bosnians considered terrorism, or
some form of gorilla warfare? Is there a definition?
Also, did you know that the Canadian government does not
have laws on their books that discourage the terrorists in that country
to operate, and often flourish undisturbed. The fact that operatives
were aware to the RCMP in places like Toronto and St. Johns, Nova Scotia
(where one of the terrorists came from on one of the ferries to Maine)
should wake the United State's indignation to push the ....Canadians....
to "pull the rag out" of their collective asses and contribute
rather than let U.S. take care of the free-loaders.
* * *
I listen to your show several times a week. I am enraged
by the recent terrorist attacks in the US and the deaths that they wrought.
It has caused me to do some serious thinking about what our leaders
have said we are going to do. [I had an all expesne paid trip to Vietnam
courtesy of our government - no I did not protest that war. But I do
understand the fact that we were defeated there.] Following are some
of my thoughts regarding terrorist:
Terrorist
The United States has avowed to rid the world of terrorist.
That statement is easier said than accomplished.
The US can bomb and invade developed areas within a country
with great effect. We can punish the political and economic leaders
of various countries who harbor terrorist. But that may not destroy
terrorism - especially terrorist who have (what we might consider) fanatical
outlooks.
Where do the terrorist live in train? Most do not live
and train in the urban centers. They live and train in rural settings.
Many do not have regular electricity or other modern conveniences. It
could be like fighting against the American Colonial Revolutionist or
the Viet Cong all over again. Does George Bush, the American Congress,
and the American public have the courage, determination, and fortitude
to attack everyone who provides safe harbors to terrorist and to everyone
who provides financial support and to everyone who has or is providing
training support for them? The list is long, the rural area villages
that support the terrorist are many.
Conventional warfare fought by the United States in Vietnam
and by the Russians in Afghanistan and Chechnya have proven unsuccessful.
The world is a very mobile community. And our enemy takes advantage
of the mobility and every weakness he can find. Have we developed better
methodologies and have we incorporated lessons learned from Vietnam?
I sincerely hope so.
I do not want to sound pessimistic - I think we need to
know what the cost might be going in. We need to know what the cost
will be if we do not start and complete the tasks as well. That is what
I think our government needs to tell us. But then they may not really
know.
We are angry and we should be. We need to take united
action and we need to include the rest of the civilized world as much
as possible. But what of the enemy we fight.
When I was raised, my parents taught me the value of children.
They taught me that the primary purpose of marriage was to procreate
and raise children. My teaching was somewhat like the manner of the
Old Testament Patriarchs in regards to children and family. Many of
the terrorist have similar (or the same or stronger) regards to children
and family. The Old Testament method of dealing with an enemy was to
destroy everyone and everything including the livestock. When an entire
village was destroyed - it left no doubt for their neighbors of what
would happen to them if they transgressed. It was Macheivellian in its
effect. But it was also quite effective. Such destruction is not normally
condoned in our western culture - but the Viet cong used it effectively
in Vietnam. This may be the only true method that can be used to deter
and stop future terroristic attacks - can we do this? If not we may
be doomed to fighting continually (see Unsuccessful War on Drugs for
a reference) and forever and only producing death and destruction, but
never a winning strategy. My prayer is to win quickly and wipe out terroristic
threats like we wiped out polio and smallpox. But...

A friend asked me recently why people in a minority seemed
to get their own way. She was referring to the fact that the flag is
not flown because it might offend someone and the Pledge of Allegiance
is not said in some PUBLIC schools for the same reason. My first response
was the first thought that came to my mind "Because we allow it."
When I was growing up, my mother taught us to sit down and shut up.
If you don't care about the National Anthem being played at a ballgame
just sit down and shut up. Nope, you make crude remarks or whine and
soon we're not doing that anymore. We have the American Civil Liberties
Union looking after the civil liberties of people in prison at what
cost to the civil liberties of the honest law abiding citizens. The
organization for women is looking after the rights of women. Which women?
I am a women who has worked in the clerical field for over 20 years
and I can't tell you one thing they did for me. These people threaten
to sue and raise a fuss and we just sit by and say "oh well".
If these terrorist have indeed lived amongst us and witnessed us standing
by while all of this is happening no wonder they thought we would turn
into victims. We can shout "throw out the immigrants" until
the cows come home and point our fingers but we must remember that it
was our silence that allowed an atheist to go to Washington and have
prayer removed from the schools. Just like our silence allows people
to say "You can't fly the AMERICAN flag in America because it might
offend someone.
It is time for every person in this country no matter their ethnic background
or skin color to teach their children that none of that matters because
we are all Americans. My grandmother, who I never met, immigrated to
this country from Hungary and she never taught her children Hungarian
because she felt this was unnecessary because they were Americans.
I will close by saying that terrorism of any kind should not be tolerated.
God Bless our President and God Bless America.

When will the American (and now New York) people wake
up and realize what FILTH the Clintons are and actually represent?!
I am appalled, disgusted and embarrassed by Hillary's actions and "emotions'
during Bush's speech last night (Thursday). The only thing that she
did not do was to start chewing gum! Hopefully the people of New York
will see through the charade and realize that this "family"
(the Clintons) are a disgrace to themselves and the American people!

Remember War Bonds during WWII - Since the government
is spending $50 billion to fight the terrorists - I recommend a campaign
for everyone to buy DEFENSE BONDS - what quicker way to help! If everyone
just bought a $50 bond - think of how much money we could loan the government.
Good Idea?
* * *
Wake up America!!!
I'm a little ticked off today! Everybody cheered last
night when the president declared that we were going to do everything
possible to bring these terrorists to justice. That we were going to
commit our young men and women to conflict to go in and find them and
extract them. There were standing ovations for all the acts that we,
as a nation, were going to do. BUT then I listened to Tom Seleck on
TV say that the Broadway play he was in (that was packed out and setting
attendance records before September 11th) was closing due to a lack
of tourists coming to the play because Americans are nervous about the
terrorists hitting New York again.
Then I heard from my niece (she flies for United Air Lines)
that the planes are all empty because Americans are nervous that the
terrorists might get on their
airplane. I watch the stock market plummet because Americans are nervous
about putting money on stocks that might drop because other Americans
are
nervous about putting their money on stocks that might drop because...
THEN THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON!!! THEY HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THEIR PURPOSE!!!
WE ARE LIVING IN TERROR!!! Every one of you that has changed YOUR plans
because YOU don't want to face the possibility that YOU might be involved
in their next act has voted against the President and in favor of the
terrorists.Could they, would they, will they, hit us again. Probably
so! I don't know. But if each of us give in at this point, we are sending
them a message 'Keep it up, we are giving in!" I had planned to
drive back to a family reunion this weekend because frankly I can't
afford to fly four of us back to Indiana.
BUT I have decided to fly! I have decided to fly with
my wife and two kids because I for one REFUSE to give up America to
the terrorists. Am I nervous about it? To be honest, yes, a little.
And so are my wife and kids. But we have peace with Jesus Christ, and
we have to live with ourselves. I can't go enlist in the Marines; but,
I can do something. I can send a message to the terrorists "IT
DIDN'T WORK!!!! YOU AREN'T GOING TO DESTROY MY AMERICA BY SCARING ME!!"
I'm going to get on an airplane and keep on LIVING!
So wake up America. Go back to work, go on with living!
Go on those vacations! Make those business trips! Put that money in
those stocks you were planning to buy! Yes you might lose a little money
or we might have to fight another terrorist on an airplane; but, we
need some more HEROES that are willing to take a little chance! That's
what they did on flight 93! LET'S GET OUR HEADS OUT OF THE SAND! You
are no safer in your homes than you are on the road or in the air. Let's
send those terrorists a message! NOT IN MY LIFETIME!!

Refer to: TODD BEAMER. Just as "Remember Pearl Harbor"
was a rallying call during our war with Japan and "Remember the
Alamo" was a call to arms for those early Texans, our call to action
at this time should be the final words of Todd Beamer as he began our
war against terrorism: "LETS ROLL!"

I am so proud of America and her politicians for finally
coming together in this time of crises and forgetting there political
beliefs, they stopped the bickering, started praying and for once I
am believeing in this country again.
As far as the economy goes, most people don't know what to do with their
money or how to invest it. This is not the same type of stock market
that had been invested in during WW I and II. Our steele industry here
in Birmingham, Al has been replaced with a booming medical town. And
from all that I have heard most all of the steele has started to be
imported.
However, I would think that since all airtraffic is suffering, that
the railroad industry will be taking off. Both passenger and freight.
I would think also that the trucklines will start to flourish also.
I have never played the stock market game, I have never had the money
to invest like I would like to. Right now may be my golden opportunity,
if I only knew what would be the magic stock to invest in.
On another note, on your Wednesday broadcast you mentioned why the CIA
and others in our government has been tip-toeing around the mention
of Suddam Hussein. I couldn't agree with you more. And to be honest
with you this scares me to death. And also, let me say that I really
don't believe that Pakistan is to be trusted. These people have very
little regard to Americans. And especially the women. I would know.
I was raped by a Pakistinian. The one thing that I can remember of his
words were, "Whats the matter, you don't enjoy it?"
It is in my belief that America, that proud beautiful lady, has been
brutally raped by these people. Now she is getting up and she is getting
ready to fight back.
Thank you for your time.

The "Mutt & Jeff" of politics are back 24/7
on CNN. Along with continuous focus on the thousand of Pakastani protesters
out of over 100 million not protesting at all. Add the hundreds protesters
in the U.S. ,which over 200 million are not, with we might hurt people,
if we attack. What's common here? The old "fear factor" created
by the DNC in conjunction with CNN/NY Times/Wash.Post and coordinated
by you know who? Our friend in the DNC Bunker,James Carville. The desgraceful
look from Bill's "Ice Wife" during Bush's speech. Nothing
at all has changed, only the appearance has changed for the Dems. As
for Bill announcing he's taking a flight on 4 different airlines, I
say, security better check his zipper( as it is made of metal) as a
potential weapon.

Once the debris has been sifted for human remains, I suggest

On hearing the news that we "know where he is"

can I really trust that guy any longer?
This would drive him crazy, I think.

Buried in the Sand?
Have we just looked the other way when these terrorist
were allowed to live in our communities, or have we just buried our
heads in the sand? I was shocked to find out that these cowards had
free run in our great nation.
I sincerely hope we keep our focus on what is going on
around us, and my prayers are with those who have suffered due to our
oversights. May God speed our military home.

To all the "peace advocates" out there, President
Bush did actually give peace a chance. He told Pakistan and Afghanistan
to give up bin Laden, "or else". They chose "or else".
In the vein of "Remember the Alamo", I feel that America needs
a battle cry of "Remember the WTC" to sustain it through the
coming battle against terrorism.

I am proud of my fellow americans for the way we have
come together during
the recent terrorist attacks. The patriotism shown by most, if not all,
has been awinspiring. The number of flags displayed in my area gives
me goosebumps.
However, I have a question that I, as a 10 year listener,
would only pose to
you Mr. Limbaugh. Why does it take this type of attack on our freedoms
and
way of life for americans to react in this fashion?
When certain liberals attempt to take away our freedoms
such as:
* The campaign finance bill. * Our military's vote in Florida.* Other
attempts to legislate away our freedom.
When untruths are told such as: * Scaring our seniors
concerning social security and medicare.* Statements as to starving
our school children.* And other untruths in an attempt to sway votes.
If we Americans could but only harness this same patriotism
to influence our
elected officials when these type of attacks on our freedom occurs.
An attack of the magnitude of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon
are easily visible to we americans. But isn't the nibbling away of our
freedomsin the latter just as serious?
For me and mine any attack on the freedoms provided by
our constitution demands concern and a reaction either by mail or a
vote at the ballot box. Thank you for being there for those of us who
need to hear the voice of a great American.
most sincerely,
E.P. Flanagan, American (Not Irish American)

Guns and Airline Safety
They make ammo for home owners. They do not pass thru
walls. Mag-Safe is one product. Made for almost all calibers. However
if the person being targeted has a leather jacket it may not penetrate.
There are many other self defense weapons that can be used. IE: rubber
bullets, Stun guns etc.
However I would suggest a gas that could be released that would make
everyone but the cockpit crew unconscious.

Arming Pilots
Even the most experienced law enforcement personnel have
to take the greatest precautions that their own weapons are not taken
by offenders. The danger in arming pilots is that their weapon can be
used against them and passengers. unless the pilots go through rigorous
training, they should not
be armed. Put up an impenetrable door and change the policy in regards
to allowing other pilots to have courtesy permission to fly up front.

War on Terrorism
If we are engaged in a "war" against terrorism,
then why in heavens name are the suspects arrested in this country being
held in civilian jails? Why are they being hauled before Federal judges
and being advised of their constitutional rights? Prisoners of war have
no constitutional rights such as the right of habeus corpus. These people
should be held in detention centers on military bases.
To bring these suspects into America's civilian criminal
justice system is an admission that this is not really a "war."
It also means that lawyers will turn any upcoming trials into a three
ring circus. Instead of looking forward to a new Nuremberg trial, we're
going to get the Three Stooges starring in "Osama learns from O.J."
God help
us.

OK, we have all heard about giving blood and donating
money to the Red Cross. But what else can we, whose lives have been
barely touched so far by the tragedy of September 11, do to show we
received the news, sympathize with the direct victims, and acknowledge
that we must all behave differently to defend our homeland?
I say LIVING WELL IS THE BEST REVENGE!
So here are some things I have thought of while driving
around listening to the talk radio hosts discuss the tragedy: (Caveat:
I am not perfect and thus have not yet even tried to accomplish most
of these. Changing habits takes hard work and time and practice. Also,
if you don't like one or more of these items, don't use it. Some of
these sound trite or hokey or old-fashioned. MAYBE THAT IS WHAT WE NEED!
Customize this list to your personal style. However, behaving differently
may involve trying something new, so be open minded. If you like this,
pass it on If not, trash it. Some of these are ideas I have picked
up from other sources with my thanks even though I am not naming them.
If you want to add something be sure to put your name and the date next
to your addition, then send me a copy)
WHAT CAN I DO AFTER SEPTEMBER 11, 2001?
1. PRAY: For America, for those left behind, for the world,
for healing and comfort, for myself, for guidance and wisdom for our
leaders, for the redemption of our enemies, etc.
2. TAKE A RISK ON AMERICA: FLY, GO ON VACATION, SPEND
SOME MONEY, BUY SOME STOCKS. In so doing, we LAUGH in the face of our
enemies.
3. GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS (the terrorists try to live
where people don't know each other) Let's not be a nation of strangers.
4. Say HELLO to people on the street. 5. Ask for HELP
if you need it. It's OK, Really!
6. Get help for an ADDICTION if you have one. 7. COMMIT
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS ( Or "Pay it Forward" like the
movie). [If you haven't already]
8. Do something really nice for someone in your town who
needs your help (thanks for donating to the relief causes in NY, DC
and PA if you have already done so).
9. Decide on one way you can be DIFFERENT and BETTER than
you were before September 11, 2001 and try it for 3 weeks.
10. BE KIND (Follow the golden rule Remember that?)
11. STAND UP AGAINST EVIL and WRONGDOING wherever you find it.
12. PRACTICE AND Teach your children or someone else PATRIOTISM,
GOOD CITIZENSHIP and AMERICAN HISTORY (if you don't know enough to teach
them, get some help and learn it yourself What is Independence
day all about, What freedoms do we have that others don't and why? Education
is a great weapon.
13. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. 14. GO BACK TO A CHURCH (or
TEMPLE or MOSQUE) Or GO FOR THE FIRST TIME!
15. Consider hosting an EXCHANGE STUDENT. 16. Call or
go in person and APOLOGIZE to someone for something you did to them
(small or large).
17. Call or go in person and FORGIVE someone for something
they did to you.18. Tell someone you've never told before that YOU LOVE
THEM.
19. FIND lost loved ones, mend fences, make-up, speak
to someone you haven't been speaking to. 20. Approach things with an
attitude of true BIPARTISANSHIP (We are all in this together).
21. Keep your eyes open and report TRULY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
nothing unsubstantiated or frivolous or speculative.
22. Don't spread UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMORS (If you weren't
an eye-witness don't talk about it).
23. Be FAIR, REASONABLE & UNSELFISH in dealing with
friends, co-workers, salespeople, spouses, ex-spouses, children, in-laws,
parents, etc.
24. Seek Justice Don't win just to win at any cost.
25. Be SLOW to Anger.
26. Don't FALSELY accuse anyone. 27. Don't sue anyone
frivolously (The courts are busy enough).
28. SHARE and PLAY NICE.29. If you can't say something
nice, don't say anything at all.
30. Clean up your language and talk to others about getting
television land to do the same. ( I am appalled it is ok for them to
use _itch and Butt and there is an awful lot of burping and farting
on TV these days. Unbelievable. Vote with your feet.)
31. Don't watch TV shows where people talk ugly to one
another or yell too much or shows that have too much violence. 32. Tell
the truth, have some integrity, don't take bribes, don't cheat, curb
your greed.
33. Eat Healthy (Fresh fruits and vegetables and lean
meats not too much bread, pasta, prepared, store-bought junk food,
etc.).
34. Get enough sleep (you know what is right for you
now do it). 35. Drink enough water, preferably filtered.
36. Get some exercise on something of a regular basis.
37. Take a break from the news every once in a while.
38. Turn off the noise (radio in the car, constant music,
tv background noise, etc.) and let your ears and your brain REST.
WE WERE AND ARE AND CAN BE THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH!
God Bless America

It is time that our News anchors learn that this is country
is the United States of America. This is our country. Our country FLAG
is Red, White and Blue. If they cannot understand that they do indeed
represent our country, we need not listen or watch them. The other evening

that they quit. I will only watch FOX NEWS for it is the only one that
gives impartial, independent and truthful news without the predjudice

why sky marshals won't work
Dear Rush and Concerned Airline Passengers:
My uncle & I were debating the "'sky marshals' for commercial
flights" idea and he brought up 2 excellent points. 1) the reason
the idea is no good and 2) a better solution. Please pose these thoughts
to your listeners and let them run with it. Of all of the suggestions
I have heard the media make, neither of these has been mentioned.
1. SKY MARSHALS are not a good idea b/c you will still have 1 guy outnumbered
by X-amt of terrorists and the X-amt of waif-like men & women flight
attendants who are unable to defend themselves properly would still
be there, in danger. The 1 guy per plane-thing isn't even much of a
deterrent, much less a solution!
2.The SOLUTION: replace the frail image of the flight attendant which
was originally designed to 'entertain' passengers with a brute-like
force of "armed attendants" (retired cops, reservists and
the like) who are designed to meet the challenges of this "new
world" we find ourselves in. Salaries would remain comparable and
training would be re-designed. Replace the glamour with security. I
can't imagine anyone who wouldn't welcome the "swap" to enhance
their safety!
Sincerely,
Keith & his niece, Alicia

An academic advisor at the Air Force Academy wrote the
following, which we
believe everyone possible should read.
From: Dr. Tony Kern, Lt Col, USAF (Ret)
Recently, I was asked to look at the recent events through
the lens of military history. I have joined the cast of thousands who
have written an "open letter to Americans."
Dear friends and fellow Americans, 14 September, 2001
Like everyone else in this great country, I am reeling
from last week's attack on our sovereignty. But unlike some, I am not
reeling from surprise. As a career soldier and a student and teacher
of military history, I have a different perspective and I think you
should hear it. This war will be won or lost by the American citizens,
not diplomats, politicians or soldiers. Let me briefly explain. In spite
of what the media, and even our own government is telling us, this act
was not committed by a group of mentally deranged fanatics. To dismiss
them as such would be among the gravest of mistakes. This attack was
committed by a ferocious, intelligent and dedicated adversary. Don't
take this the wrong way. I don't admire these men and I deplore their
tactics, but I respect their capabilities.
The many parallels that have been made with the Japanese
attack on Pearl Harbor are apropos. Not only because it was a brilliant
sneak attack against a complacent America, but also because we may well
be pulling our new adversaries out of caves 30 years after we think
this war is over, just like my father's generation had to do with the
formidable Japanese in the years following WW II.
These men hate the United States with all of their being,
and we must not underestimate the power of their moral commitment. Napoleon,
perhaps the world's greatest combination of soldier and statesman, stated
"the moral is to the physical as three is to one." Patton
thought the Frenchman underestimated its importance and said moral conviction
was five times more important in battle than physical strength.
Our enemies are willing -- better said anxious -- to give their lives
for their cause.
How committed are we America? And for how long? In addition
to demonstrating great moral conviction, the recent attack demonstrated
a mastery of some of the basic fundamentals of warfare taught to most
military officers worldwide, namely simplicity, security and surprise.
When I first heard rumors that some of these men may have been trained
at our own Air War College, it made perfect sense to me. This was not
a random act of violence, and we can expect the same sort of military
competence to be displayed in the battle to come.
This war will escalate, with a good portion of it happening
right here in the good ol' U.S. of A. These men will not go easily into
the night. They do not fear us. We must not fear them. In spite of our
overwhelming conventional strength as the world's only "superpower"
(a truly silly term), we are the underdog in this fight. As you listen
to the carefully scripted rhetoric designed to prepare us for the march
for war, please realize that America is not equipped or seriously trained
for the battle ahead.
To be certain, our soldiers are much better than the enemy,
and we have some excellent "counter-terrorist" organizations,
but they are mostly trained for hostage rescues, airfield seizures,
or the occasional "body snatch," (which may come in handy).
We will be fighting a war of annihilation, because if their early efforts
are any indication, our enemy is ready and willing to die to the last
man.
Eradicating the enemy will be costly and time consuming.
They have already deployed their forces in as many as 20 countries,
and are likely living the lives of everyday citizen! s. Simply put,
our soldiers will be tasked with asearch and destroy mission on multiple
foreign landscapes, and the public must be patient and supportive until
the strategy and tactics can be worked out.
For the most part, our military is still in the process
of redefining itself and presided over by men and women who grew up
with -- and were promoted because they excelled in -- Cold War doctrine,
strategy and tactics. This will not be linear warfare, there will be
no clear "centers of gravity" to strike with high technology
weapons. Our vast technological edge will certainly be helpful, but
it will not be decisive.
Perhaps the perfect metaphor for the coming battle was
introduced by the terrorists themselves aboard the hijacked aircraft
-- this will be a knife fight, and it will be won or lost by the ingenuity
and will of citizens and soldiers, not by software or smart bombs. We
must also be patient with our military leaders. Unlike Americans who
are eager to put this messy time behind us, our adversaries have time
on their side, and they will use it. They plan to fight a battle of
attrition, hoping to drag the battle out until the American public loses
its will to fight.
This might be difficult to believe in this euphoric time
of flag waving and patriotism, but it is generally acknowledged that
America lacks the stomach for a long fight. We need only look as far
back as Vietnam, when North Vietnamese General Vo Nguyen Giap (also
a military history teacher) defeated the United States of America without
ever winning a major tactical battle. American soldiers who marched
to war cheered on by flag waving Americans in 1965 were reviled and
spat upon less than three years later when they returned.
Although we hope that Usama Bin Laden is no Giap, he is
certain to understand and employ the concept. We can expect not only
large doses of pain like the recent attacks, but also less audacious
"sand in the gears" tactics, ranging from livestock infestations
to attacks at water and food supplies and power distributionfacilities.
These attacks are designed to hit us in our "comfort zone"
forcing the average American to "pay more and play less" and
eventually eroding our resolve. But it can only work if we let it.
It is clear to me that the will of the American citizenry
-- you and I -- is the center of gravity the enemy has targeted. It
will be the fulcrum upon which victory or defeat will turn. He believes
us to be soft, impatient, and self-centered.He may be right, but if
so, we must change.
The Prussian general Carl von Clausewitz, (the most often
quoted and least read military theorist in history), says that there
is a "remarkable trinityof war" that is composed of the (1)
will of the people, (2) the politicalleadership of the government, and
(3) the chance and probability that plays out on the field of battle,
in that order. Every American citizen was in the crosshairs of last
Tuesday's attack, notjust those that were unfortunate enough to be in
the World Trade Center orPentagon. The will of the American people will
decide this war. If we are towin, it will be because we have what it
takes to persevere through a fewmore hits, learn from our mistakes,
improvise, and adapt. If we can do that,we will eventually prevail.
Everyone I've talked to In the past few days has shared
a common frustration, saying in one form or another "I just wish
I could do something!" You are already doing it. Just keep faith
in America, and continue to support your President, the military, and
their decisions then the outcome is certain. If, on the other hand,
we lose our faith, our resolve and fail to do so, the outcome is equally
certain. God Bless America

When will American Civilians begin training to deal with
terrorist war on
American soil.....?.......Charlie Rose
* * *
A short bit of background, I am a retired US Marine First
Sergeant who served in Afghanistan 1985-86 and several other US Embassy
postings around the world to include Africa as a regional supervisor
for the Marines in Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Uganda, Burundi,
Zaire, the Congo and South Africa to name a few. I lost friends in Beirut
in 1983, my buddies were blown up in Costa Rica on their way to work
one morning, my wife and I lost more friends in Kenya than I care to
count and I was there a month after the blast in 1998 visiting surviving
friends.
For those of us who have dealt with it overseas, terrorism was expected
in some form some day here in the USA. The bold yet simple manner in
which the attack was carried out on September 11th will forever change
the daily habits of our great Nation. Though they might change our habits,
they will never change our spirit or lessen our resolve.
There are those who will no doubt search for scapegoats and that will
serve no purpose except to return the back biting bickering of party
lines. By establishing a commission to assess the hows and whys of this
attack we can plug the gaps and holes where needed. Any attempts to
go after individuals or government agencies will only lead to disaster.
While this approach might appear tactically plausible to the left winged
liberals on the hill that are quick to seek avenues of personal and
political gain they had better think twice.
I watched C-SPAN with great interest and pride as our very astute and
courageous Attorney General met members of Congress this week. He outlined
proposed changes to current law that he and his learned associates feel
will improve the arsenal of our various law enforcement agencies as
they try to develop strategies and methods to help find future planners
of such acts. I sat amazed as the liberal leaders of our Nation tried
to get assurances that the privacy they so cared about would in no way
be threatened. Funny thing is, between them and the ACLU many Americans
had lost interest in the dialogue and process. It takes a terrorist
act on our own soil to wake up the passive and end some of the apathy.
America lost too many of her loved ones in this attack but She will
be stronger as a result. We have a nation filled with unprecedented
patriotism, children are saying prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance
in public schools, Flags are flying as never before, our nation and
the world has seen the Cabinet of our President, so called "has
beens", rally to the task with a vigor and skill not seen in decades.
Their knowledge and abilities could not have been better suited for
the tasks ahead. President Bush will be re-elected, world unity is at
an all time high, we will weather the storm of the economy and no doubt
will return to life pretty much as we lived it prior to this attack.
But we will not forget.
I recently asked a young college man, who was talking of fleeing to
Canada if there was a draft, if he knew anything about Zimbabwe and
the plight of the white farmer or if he knew the modern history of Afghanistan.
He was not sure on which continent you could find Zimbabwe and he knew
absolutely nothing about Afghanistan. However he said that he was rather
well informed on American history. When I asked him who Thomas Paine
was or if he had ever heard of Chappaquiddick he was very quick to say
that Mr. Paine was unknown to him and that General Lee had won a major
battle there. I told him I thought the civil war was before July of
1969. So much for informed views.
This line of thought brings me to my close. I recently wrote ABC news
an e-mail not unlike many that are posted on your website. I, like many
of your listerners, have heard enough of Peter Jennings and his treason.
I am fortunate enough to truly understand what freedom means and do
not take for granted that which this great country of ours stands for.
I will die tomorrow fighting for the rights and privileges our forefathers
were brave enough to fight for and literate enough to put to paper but
Mr Jennings' has crossed the line. Mr. Jennings' remarks the day of
the attack of 9/11 not only showed his pompous ego but also showed his
desire to create the news rather than report it. Now is not the time
to publicly belittle or undermine an administration that is working
very hard to effectively deal with this tragedy and it's impact both
nationally and globally. Rumor has it that he has never taken citizenship
here in the USA and, if he in fact is a visitor, he should buy a one
way ticket to cover the pending fireworks with Mr. Bin Laden.
I appreciate the ability to share my views. I pray that ABC finds the
courage to fire Peter Jennings and that they give a younger and more
sensitive anchor his chance to impact America.
Sincerely and May God Bless,
Clarence
P.S. Why are custodians raising the flags in our schools today and not
the kids. Let's return to the days of flag ettiquite, flag customs and
re-educate our future leaders just why Old Glory is the greatest symbol
of freedom in the world today.

War
If our country is at war, then why are we debating over
the niceties vs. the indignities. Never in the history of the world,
has a war been waged, fought, and won, the way everybody thoght it would
be. War is never clean. War is never easy. War is not predictable,it
changes from day to day .War is messy, do not expect it to be tidy in
any way. And last of all, a war is not won until soldiers are standing
victorious, in full occupation and control of the land of the enemy
who sought to destroy them!
The U.S A made a decision not to occupy Bahgdad during the Gulf War.
I hope we don't make the same mistake again.Occupation may cost lives,
but it removes despots and their regiems!

Lady Liberty has been called upon to disburse justice
In the past, we, as Americans, viewed our country unassailable
to foreign armies. Ignorant were we to the belief that individuals,
not armies, could bring mass destruction to our land of liberty and
freedom. In a few short hours, millions of lives were touched and our
beliefs were jerked back to reality. America has been assaulted!
News of hijacked aircraft colliding into buildings on
the eastern coast spread like wildfire. The Twin Towers, as well as
the Pentagon, the most impregnable structure in the world, had been
struck by domestic aircraft at the hands of terrorists. Worldwide, people
were dumstruck and shocked. My own first concern, as was I am sure for
the thousands of family members of those who worked in the Trade Center,
was for the safety of my family. My aunt Sheila and uncle Rich both
work for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and were on the ferry crossing the
Hudson when the second plane struck. After verifying that they were
indeed safe, reality set in and it dawned on me
that our glorious nation had been struck, not by armies, but by the
vilest form of mankind.
"We must retaliate" was the response of millions.
I cannot agree more. We must not only serve justice upon these terrorists,
but those who harbor these anarchists. If we do not, more terrorists
will arise and fill the fallen's ranks. We must feel retribution upon
ALL those involved.
Americans must set aside their differences and unite.
Our nation is one that is made of immigrants from diverse cultures and
backgrounds. We are Caucasian Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans,
Arab Americans, Jewish Americans, Christian Americans, Muslin Americans,
etc. The common denominator is that we are ALL Americans. Together,
we must reach inside to find a resolve made of steel. We must do what
is right in honor of our fallen Americans - not only those who died
as innocent victims on September 11th, but our forefather's who fought
to protect this great Nation and to keep its citizens, like me and you,
free. Our hearts ache for the families of the victims, and our prayers
are with our leaders and members of the
military. Lady Liberty has to be called upon to disburse justice. It
is our job as citizens of the greatest nation in the world to stand,
not as multitudes of individuals, but, as one nation to face this threat.
My hope for our nation is that we can face the future
with the strength, love, and determination, that has been shown by the
people of New York. For the first time in my life of 17 years, I understand

Mid-East Travel Plan
I have a new Mid-East travel special that I am offering.
This is open to all those that do not approve of the Presidents' current
plans or future actions.
You bring your lighted candle, I will furnish a small
American flag for your other hand and the 82nd Airborne will deliver
you to Bin Laden's front door so you can personally deliver your message
of everlasting peace and "I feel your pain"! (And it will
be an artistic American flag with human artistic excrement on it! Paid
for by the NEA!)
Sorry, but world peace and real civilization have a real
price! (Excuse us while we take out the garbage!)Terrorist car bombers
and/or tower bombers and their terrorist
supporters are all the same - EVIL! My line on terrorism is drawn in
the concrete and steel of the World Trade Centers - not in the dust
and the sand! Those towers stood for world trade and peace. The rubble
must now stand for the never-ending war on true EVIL!
Stay ever alert and safe!
David

Are you aware, that Reuters advised their reporters, not
to refer to the terrorists as terrorists, since looking at them from
the other side they are freedom fighters. Source: MTI hungarian news

I remember Pearl Harber. I cannot believe the Edward R.
Murrow piece is authentic. If anythong like that had been written, I
would remember. Go back to National Review and see where they got that.

I am proud to say I did not bear witness any of the liberal
biased remarks by the 'esteemed' anchors of the 'major' networks. I
received my fill of their brand of tele-journalism during the pres.
election and have not regretted my choice for the briefest of moments.
I watched Fox. They report the news without the liberal slant you get
everywhere else, just as they did during the election. If you really
want them (abc, cbs, nbc) to stop their liberalizing, then....STOP WATCHING
THEM.
Conservatively yours,
Alek

Postal Service
Rush, here's another example of how the terrorist attack
is affecting our nation. In the past, the U.S. Postal Service depended
greatly on using commercial flights to send Priority mail. Fortunately,
only weeks before the terrorist attack, the Postal Service made an agreement
with FedEx to fly Postal Service mail on FedEx flights instead of commercial
flights. Now, due to the terrorist attack, the FAA has instructed the
Postal Service that no mail weighing over 16 oz. can fly on commercial
flights.
Without the agreement with FedEx, the U.S. Postal Service
would have trouble meeting it's 2-day service commitment for the delivery
of Priority mail. If the agreement between FedEx and the Postal Service
was not in affect prior to the terrorist attack, any business in the
nation depending on Priority mail to conduct business could be in trouble.
Fortunately, the agreement went into affect only weeks prior to the
attack and the Postal Service is able to maintain service. I haven't
heard anyone else talk about this and thought you might be interested.
Thanks
Tim

Possible solution for Aircraft Hijacking/using the aircraft
as a "missile".
I am a licensed pilot, using available GPS technology
and navigational equipment. I have discussed this with commercial aviation
pilots and as yet, cannot find the flaw in this possible solution:
All commercial Jets have an auto pilot system which allows
the aircraft to arrive at its programed destination. So reliable is
the system that transoceanic flights have a "wake up alert for
the flight crew. The on board computer is capable of landing the aircraft
at any major airfield. The problem is that the auto pilot system cannot
use "reverse
thrusters required after touch down, to assist in braking so that the
aircraft will not roll off the end of the runway.
The technology for the following solution not only exists
today, but for the most part is already in place in today's commercial
airliners. The auto pilot "nearest runway lookup, and emergency
broadcast features need to be programed into a single "hijacking
in progress switch. This cockpit cockpit-mounted "hijacking in
progress switch would activate an auto pilot sequence which would do
the following:The pilot could not, under any circumstances regain control
of the aircraft.
Locate the nearest runway upon which the aircraft could
land with the remaining fuel. This could be sites such as Edwards Air
force base, Cape Canaveral, The great Salt Lake in Utah. Other sites
could be programed into the auto pilot program.
Steer clear of major metropolitan areas. Broadcast to
the FAA over the emergency frequency (121.5) , all flight information,
as well as the "new destination of the aircraft. (Thiswould allow
the appropriate military response to to be waiting at the
location in advance of the airliner.)
Variations could be programed into the system, such as:
Allow governmental agencies on the ground to override the system in
the event of some unforeseeable need.

I would like to comment on the media's concerns over our
Presidents vocabulary.
Perhaps the problem is that President Bush is a down to
earth type person that 95% of the American people can understand and
trust due to the fact that he does not present the public with a bunch
of double talk and lies. This may be the reason the media has a hard
time with his presentations. But, I assure you I like the good old boy
and would be proud to stand beside him any time. Then on the other hand
I'm just one of those good old boys myself.

I have a great suggestion for you to pose to any americans
able to aid this cause. Shouldn't one of our #1 focuses be on EDUCATING
EVERYONE (bank employees, business owners, school children, parents,
etc.) on TERRORISM/TERRORISTS, i.e., what to look for, what to
do in case of an attack, etc.?
I had a great professor of terrorism in college and I
still revert to things I remember him saying to this day. We are still
finding these infiltrators everywhere in our country -- they will soon
be invading our food & water systems and bringing in biological
&/or chemical warfare -- education could save alot of us. KNOWLEDGE
is POWER and the FEAR is indeed crippling.
Sincerely,
Alicia / Battle Creek, MI

In reference to the gentleman who called on the subject
of National ID Cards--perhaps an implanted microchip would be a better
option. If we can do it to our pets, why not ourselves. It should be
more difficult to compromise/counterfeit a microchip than an ID card,
and presumably, more difficult to lose.
Might also be easier to identify a body (at least an intact
body)!

Air Line Bailout
I cant take credit for this concept, but it makes damn
good sense. When we bail out the domestic airlines, we need to get for
our money 15 billion dollars in travel vouchers for government employees,
and Military travel. I stole this idea from the Heritage Foundation
website but it make to much sense to pass up so I have called both of
my Senators and my Representative and made this suggestion.

Subject: Clinton Legacy
I have been trying to make sense out of what happened
to our wonderful country 11 short days ago. I had no idea you were personally
exposed to the horror in DC. As I write, the tears blur the keys, my
heart is broken, and I pray that your inner-strength and abiding faith,
will help you somehow get thru the next several days, weeks, months.
It seems that everyone I talk to knew someone that was murdered by these
evil, despicable bastards...the depth of this tragedy knows no bounds.
I have a philosophy that I've lived by throughout my life...when
you see a wrong...right it. I know the next phrase probably isn't in
the good book, but it WILL be my crusade for the rest of my life...don't
get mad...get even.
Barbara's death must be avenged. I will let George W.,his
great team and our military take care of destroying these bastards, but
I will make it my civil duty to investigate and unearth the reasons
why our country became so vulnerable in eight long years of the Clinton
presidency. He sold us out to every crook and corrupt dictator around
the world for his own personal gain. Never in the history of the US.
has a president rented out our White House for fifty thousand dollar
a night stays, or twenty five thousand dollar cup of coffees. While
the traitorous acts were going on, his great buddies in the media never
questioned the behavior, but admired how brilliant he was to be able
to get away with it.
We as a nation found out some of the people he invited
to OUR house for his campaign blood money...the Communist Chinese(who
bought our nuclear deployment systems), Johnnie Chung who testified
that the Chinese helped finance Clinton's second election, the wanted
drug dealer who visited OUR house over seventeen times while OUR TRAITOR
IN CHIEF took his filthy money, or the arms dealer who contributed over
a quarter of a million dollars to Clinton at the White House...the same
man who was wanted by Interpole for selling weapons of mass destruction
to the Middle Eastern countries like Syria, Iran, Irac...countries that
harbor terrorists.
I've been waiting for some journalist...any journalist,
to have the guts to step up to the plate and remind the American people
just who is responsible for this attack and entitle the piece, "Clinton
Legacy--American Blood."I'll be thinking of you and hoping we can
somehow, someway, pull it together.
Love,
Candy

The terrorists have chosen to bring Islam to a new meaning:
I SLAM! I Slam shut the world's opinion on our matters. I Slam the door
to truth and freedom. I Slam the idea that the East is backward and
barbaric. I Slam those that would take my oil wealth and distribute
it to schools for our children and their future. I Slam the thought
that people cannot be controlled with hunger and fear. And...last of
all here, but first in the hearts of my believers, I SLAM planes, boats,
trucks, buildings and people into ALLAH's hands. From here on, Islam
is the religion of terror, death, and deception. And, it is called I
SLAM.......

The Only Way to Rebuild Trust in Air Travel
EYES IN THE SKY
Realistic air travel safety can only be accomplished in
and around the aircraft. The watchful eye needs to be more focused.
The interior of every aircraft must be affixed with cameras for real-time
monitoring by ground-level observers. And, just as aircraft can be operated
remotely from the ground, remote controlled immobilizing devices, akin
to stun-guns, are needed in the cockpit.
Constant ground-controlled monitoring and activation of
in-flight counter-measures will provide the only true safety in this
isolated environment. Commercial buildings have surveillance posts with
real-time monitoring of loading docks and trash dumpsters. Surely, we
can do the same for citizens who fly. The time has come to abandon the
"black box" data and voice recovery mentality and implement
air-to-ground real-time video and data transmission.
On the ground, the eye of security needs to be trained
more at the aircraft. Passenger delusion that the aircraft they soon
board will be safe results when travelers erroneously translate security
clearance anger from long lines, emptying pockets, re-entering metal
detectors, and x-ray machines into a feeling of heightened in-flight
safety.
Airport security is improperly focused when attention
is trained on airport parameters because there are simply too many points
of infiltration. If the concern is the aircraft, then position the security
measures at the aircraft -- not half-mile away at a terminal. Clearly,
airports have become small cities, and if you're trying to guard a bank
in a city, you place your sentry at the bank -- not at the gates to
the city.
Existing boarding gate areas must be geared more toward
the security of the particular departing flight, with those airline
employees traveling on the flight more involved in this last layer of
security. The traveling public will have more confidence in a safety
system that actively involves those travelling on the flight. And more
use of remote boarding is needed as it arguably lends itself to a more
secure environment as the aircraft is positioned away from the terminal
and those boarding are more easily scrutinized.
We're not talking rocket science here. The most intense
security procedures need to be focused in and about aircraft, with the
last mammal to leave any aircraft before takeoff being an explosive/drug
trained dog -- not an airline gate agent.
We need to immediately implement an air travel security
system that is focused, one that constantly monitors all in-flight andground-level
aircraft activity.

BOMB THEM WITH BUTTER
A military response, particularly an attack on Afghanistan,
is exactly what terrorists want. It will strengthen and swell their
small but fanatical ranks.
Instead, bomb Afghanistan with butter, with rice, bread,
clothing and medicine. It will cost less than conventional arms, poses
no threat of US casualties and just might get the populace thinking
that maybe the Taliban doesn't have the answers. After three years of
drought and with starvation looming, let's offer the Afghani people
the vision of a new future. One that includes full stomachs.
Bomb them with information. Video players and cassettes
of world leaders, particularly Islamic leaders, condemning terrorism.
Carpet the country with magazines and newspapers showing the horror
of terrorism committed by their "guest". Blitz them with laptop
computers and DVD players filled with a perspective that is denied them
by their government. Saturation bombing with hope will mean that some
of it gets through. Send so much that the Taliban can't collect and
hide it all.
The Taliban are telling their people to prepare for Jihad.
Instead, let's give the Afghani people their first good meal in years.
Seeing your family fully fed and the prospect of stability in terms
of food and a future is a powerful deterrent to martyrdom. All we ask
in return is that they, as a people, agree to enter the civilized world.
That includes handing over terrorists in their midst.
In responding to terrorism we need to do something different...
something unexpected...something that addresses the root of the problem.
We need to take away the well of despair, ignorance and brutality from
which the Osama bin Laden's of the world water their gardens of terror.
