Republican theme for mid-term and beyond elections

For the forty or so years from 1950 to 1992 we had democratic and republican presidents, with democratic controlled congresses and ---we had nothing but deficits. For the six years the republicans were in control of congress- we had mostly surpluses. If you want to hold down spending and maintain the surplus---keep the republicans in control of congress.

Ben Franklin once said:

"If we sacrifice liberty for security, we will eventually have neither." Thus the great difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats believe in using taxation and regulation to infringe upon our liberties. Republicans believe in Liberty, thus lowering taxation to allow for individual freedom.

Campaign Successions:

How about preaching about the real republician stance of less government? We don't need more government. Republicians need to concentrate on removing federal control over such things as education, EPA policies, welfare, etc. We need the Congress to pass legislature to remove some unnecessary laws and get the feds out of certain areas. If it is a necessary government action, move more or all responsiblity to the states. People are fustrated that people in Washington DC tell someone in Washington state what to do. More power needs to drop to local or state government so people can actually talk to someone close by to say their view. How can I talk to someone who is 2500 miles away? How can the majority of people in the USA tell someone in a different state what to do? Let people in their city, or county, or even state pass laws that are what they want. Such as the drilling in the Artic region. Let Alaska decide if drilling should happen. Not some environmentalists from Massechusetts, that will never go there, tell Alaska what to do.

PS - Republicians need to pass a good campaign reform bill and quit eating on the big business trough. How about Republicians represent the people instead of big business? Case in point is health care reform. People want to sue HMO, if needed; HMOs don't. Represent people, not big business.

Lincoln's Ten Social and Political Guidelines

1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. / 2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

3. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. / 4. You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred.

5. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.

6. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. / 7. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

8. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. 9. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. /

10. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Liberalism - A State of Emotion

Rush, I am sure you have heard this before but it dawned on me while observing the democrats reaction to recent unfolding events and the slipping away of their ability to formulate any rational stance on most issues it became clear to me that liberalism is a state of emotion while conservatism is a state of mind. Liberals do not think about the issues, they allow only their feelings, like immature children to dictate their actions.

Conservatives on the other hand think about the actions of their consequences and make intelligent decisions. Enjoy your show, Keep up the good work.

Democrats' War Plan

"Democrats plan to attack President Bush on the economy in the coming months in the hope that his postwar surge in the polls will plummet when voters refocus on job losses and weaker business activity," reports the Washington Times. The donkeys point out that President Bush's father also won a war against Iraq and enjoyed sky-high approval ratings afterward...only to go down in flames at the ballot box two years later due, in their opinion, to the slumping economy and high unemployment rates.

A couple of flaws in the argument: First, W ain't H.W. He has the benefit of learning from his father's mistakes. Don't bet the farm that he'll make the same ones. Once the war is behind him, he will fix the economy...or be able to blame the Democrats for obstructing the necessary repairs.

Secondly, it wasn't so much "the economy, stupid" as it was senior President Bush losing his party's base after the betrayal of his "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge. For the record, the younger President Bush is aggressively pursuing yet another tax CUT right now, not a tax HIKE. Don't bet the farm that he'll flip-flop on this one before November 2004.

And lastly: Dubya has Karl Rove. 'Nuff said. The Democrats are toast. Stick a fork in 'em, they're done.

Sen. Kerry s' Violent "Regime Change" - Republicans should "frame" these words for a television commercial "abomination" to the Democratic Party

04/07/2003

As an American, I am offended by the thoughtless and irresponsible reference to the removal of the butcher of Baghdad to the removal of President George W. Bush given by John Kerry April 3, 2003.

I understand Kerrys' desire for change but disagree with his self-serving ta ctics presented during this time of international tension and war. Kerry ins ists he is a patriot based on his experience in Vietnam. If he learned anyth ing in Vietnam ...why doesn't he use it today? With servicemen giving their lives in Iraq, Kerry speels his mouth off without regard to their lives, mor ale and families. He does not honor the Office of The President now nor will he later.

He has revealed his lack of integrity and arrogance to the nation. How can h e command respect when he honors nothing but political ambition in this time of international crisis? Kerry cannot be considered a serious candidate. Th e underlying "violent" overtones of his speech may feed some justification b y a distraught individual for an assasination attempt or deed of violence et c.as Kerry suggests. Kerry needs to be indicted for major stupidity and for the demise of political decency in his behavior.

Kerry plainly seen isn't trustworthy and should be censured by Congress for his lack of integrity. America deserves an apology and frankly so does Georg e W. Bush for these outlandish and horrible words spoken by John Kerry.

My hope for today is: May there be a regime change in the heart of this phon ey patriot.

May angry Americans write and rebuke this disrespectful Senator.

May God Protect Our Real Heroes, Our Troops In Iraq.Kerry's statement, "What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States." reveals the lack of discernment and political stupidity of Sen. John Kerry.

If this statement was calculated to cause uproar so as to focus public atten tion to Kerry as a feasible alternative, I believe it backfired and will hau nt whatever is left of his political career/future.

I think that Republicans should "frame" these words for a television commerc ial "abomination" to the Democratic Party, although only Kerry was the insti gator and fool. Kerry's statement can be used to discount all Democrats as be ding truly out of touch, especially in light of military success in Iraq.
If he has such lack of decency and respect for the Office of The Presidency now, what makes anyone think he has/ will have any credible respect for the average American; if he were to attain his own "regime". I will bet you thousands he would be the first to proclaim such a statement as treason, unpatriotic, and a betrayal to all Americans if he were in Office.

Mr. James, You didn't mention the "flavor of violence" that can be detected within the comparison given by Sen. Kerry. We were overturning the Hussein regime by violence at that time (April 2, 2003). How can we not detect a covert insinuation that in Mr. Kerry's opinion, Mr. Bushs'regime may be worth y of violent overthrow?

You may suggest that this is ludicrous, but a fanatic may view this as jus tification given by a respected U.S. official for an assasination a ttempt etc.

If this specific statement is deciphered in the Press, as the campaign moves forward, I believe that most Americans will defend The Office regardless of party affiliation and Kerry will be dethroned from the delusions of his own grandiose regime throne.
