Nancy Pelosi Wants Ground-Zero Mosque Opponents Investigated!

"There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,"
– August 18, 2010, during an interview on KCBS radio in San Francisco.
A huge majority of the American people oppose the Ground Zero Mosque. But in Nancy Pelosi's bizarre, up-is-down/black-is-white world, we are the suspects.

Earlier Pelosi Quotes

"Without it (the stimulus), we would never have dug out of the deep recession that the Bush administration had taken us in."
– July 15, 2010, at a news conference in Washington D.C.
By every economic indicator used to determine such things (unemployment rate, jobless claims, GDP, etc.) the economy is in much worse shape now than it was when President Bush left office.

"Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program. It injects demand into the economy. It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
– July 1, 2010, speaking to reporters in favor of another extension of unemployment benefits.

“Take it to the bank. I’m very pleased with how the primaries have been going in terms of the votes that my members have received. Looking at the other side and who the challengers are, I feel pretty good about it."
– June 11, 2010, in an interview with NBC.

"We can't tell 12 million illegals 'Go back to wherever you came from or go to jail.'"
– May 9 & 10, 2010, speaking to the Catholic Community Conference.
But we can change the climate of Planet Earth?

"You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting. But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."
– March 9, 2010, in a speech to the National Association of Counties, on passing healthcare reform.
No, Nancy, we want to know what's in the bill before it becomes law. That's not too much to ask. And that you should even say such a thing is as frightening as it is absurd.

"Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint."
– February 28, 2010 in an interview on CNN’s State of the Union.
We'll find out in 2011 if Nancy Pelosi really believes this, when Republican majorities are setting the agenda and drafting the legislation.

“You go through the gate. If the gate’s closed, you go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we’ll pole-vault in. If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in. But we’re going to get health care reform passed for the American people.”
– January 28, 2010, at a press conference, vowing to continue Democrat efforts to ram healthcare into law.

"The point is we want to make sure everyone has healthcare. We all have to do our part... The legislation is very fair."
– November 11, 2009, responding to a reporter's question about the fairness of sending people to jail if they don't buy health insurance.
In other words, Nancy Pelosi sees no problem with sending people to jail for the "crime" of not buying government-mandated healthcare.

“I think they’re AstroTurf. You be the judge. They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.”
– August 8, 2009, replying to a reporter's question about the authenticity of town hall protests against Obamacare.

"Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs."
– January 18, 2009, during an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News.
The population of the whole United States is roughly 307 million. Source: U.S. Census Bureau.

"I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels... [natural gas] is cheap, abundant and clean compared to fossil fuels."
– August 4, 2008, on NBC's Meet the Press.
Does Madam Pelosi not realize that natural gas is a fossil fuel?

“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet!”
– July 29, 2008, in response to Republican attempts to lift the drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico.
Rather than save the planet, Nancy, you should focus on saving your job as House Speaker in November.

"With tax cuts for the wealthiest few causing red ink as far as the eye can see, incomes falling, and our jobs moving overseas, the economic record of President Bush is dismal for middle-class families."
– April 7, 2006, in a written statement.
The unemployment rate in the country at the time was 4.7%. Today it's 9.3% (actually higher if you count the under-employed, and people who've given up looking for work). The national debt at the time was $8.5 trillion dollars. Today it's almost $12 trillion... And by the way, "the rich" get a bum rap. They employ the middle class and the poor. They pay most of the country's taxes. Economic policies that hurt the rich hurt everybody else, too.

Since the Democrats took control of congress in 2006, the congressional approval rating has sunk to just 9 percent - the lowest in history! Nancy wants censorship: Against Free-Speech.

Since the Democrats took control of congress in 2006, the stock market has gone from 14,000 to about 8,000... And OPEC will keep raising oil prices – they know Democrats will never allow drilling.
