Doug Urbanski is guest-hosting for Rush today… On the IRS Tea Party scandal…

How long do you think it's going to be until we hear the words 'executive privilege' invoked in the IRS scandal? I'm asking the question because I'm coming to the conclusion that the Constitution doesn't mean anything anymore. If the people whose job it is to obey and enforce the law don't have anyone watching them to make sure they obey and enforce the law, what does it all matter?

Mark Steyn is guest-hosting for Rush today… On revelations that Eric Holder investigated and sought the telephone records of a Fox News reporter…

Eric Holder is stunned and deeply troubled to discover that he personally approved a decision to subpoena Fox News telephone records. Eric Holder had no idea until he read it in the Washington Post over breakfast after reading the Style section piece on what fabulous shoes White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler wears.

On the IRS harassment of Tea Party groups and its impact on conservative voter turnout in the 2012 election…

The 2012 election honestly deserves an asterisk next to it. There was a flat-out effort to suppress the conservative vote in this election while everybody was listening to the allegation that conservatives wanted to suppress the black or gay vote.

On Lois Lerner’s appearance before Congressman Issa’s committee investigating IRS persecution of Tea Party groups…

Every day there's a new bit of information. Every day there's a new denial from the White House. Every day there's a new really sorry excuse for why Obama didn't know about it. The media is getting very, very worried. All of this is starting to sound very flimsy. Now you've got one of the head honchos out there claiming and taking the Fifth Amendment saying, "I don't want to answer this 'cause I could incriminate myself." That right there implies criminal activity here.

On the harassment of Tea Party groups by the IRS…

Anybody remember the New Black Panther Party and voter intimidation in Philadelphia? What's the difference, in all candor, what is the difference in what the New Black Panther Party was doing and what the IRS was doing?

On the political implications of one-party rule in a socialist state…

People, since the first days of discussion of Obamacare, have asked what turn out now to be very intelligent questions. 'What if I didn't vote for Obama? What if I'm not a Democrat? What's that gonna mean for me when I get in line for health care when the government runs it?' Well, here's a pretty good indication of what it could mean. You might be moved to the back of the line, while Democrat voters, Obama donors get moved to the front of the line.

On the politicization of the IRS in the Obama administration…

At the very at least the IRS suppressed the Tea Party movement for 27 months, from March of 2010 to June of 2012, across two election cycles. That's at the very least. The IRS suppressed the Tea Party movement. The IRS. In this case, a branch of the Obama administration.

On the Obama Administration’s attitude toward the Benghazi hearings…

The Obama administration has called the effort to understand what happened in causing the death of four Americans in Benghazi 'a bump in the road' and now a 'sideshow. The effort to understand why four Americans unnecessarily died at a US consulate in Benghazi is called by this administration 'a bump in the road' and a 'sideshow.'

On the truth as it begins to emerge from the Benghazi hearings…

On the night of the Benghazi attack, everybody on the ground in Libya and everybody in Washington knew it was Ansar al-Sharia, the al-Qaeda franchise in Libya. The White House knew. It's now clear. This is not me or anybody else in the media asserting it. It is the media reporting it.

On Hillary Clinton’s “What difference does it make?" speech during her Benghazi testimony…

Words that will live in infamy. 'What difference does it make?' Try that when a kid walks into a school and starts shooting. Try that at the next whatever Boston Marathon bombing event... Try that the next time some kid walks into a movie theater with a gun. What difference does it make why he did it? Try that, see how far that gets you.

On the reasons behind the Obama administration’s disastrously inept performance defending the Benghazi consulate when it was attacked…

Nobody is going to convince me that they wanted people to die. I'm telling you, there were just things more important to them at the time. They didn't want to admit that Obama hadn't won the War on Terror. They didn't want to have to admit that Al-Qaeda was still alive and kicking.

On the American way of life and how it is viewed by liberals…

We're the freest people that have ever been. That's why we're the lone superpower of the world, and that's why so many people are worried about what's happening. Because that freedom, liberty and ambition are the greatest threats to big government types that you can imagine.

On a poll that finds 42% don’t know that Obamacare is the law of the land…

The Kaiser Family Foundation, a major health care provider, went out and did an exhaustive, extensive survey of the American people. Do you know what the Kaiser Family Foundation found? They found that 42% the American people have no idea that Obamacare is law. Now, stop for a moment and let that sink in: 42% of the American people have no idea that there is a new health care law, no matter what it's called. They don't know it exists. Forty-two percent! Folks, if that's the case, repeal it! If 42% don't even know what it is, don't worry about who supports it. Just get the hell rid of it!
