Can you please explain to me when the law of the United States changed to allow the defendant to make his own interpretation of the law he is accused of violating. Is not robbing a bank really borrowing the money if the robber say's so.?
I am curious to know where in the United States Code does it state that perjury is permissible if it involves private sexual matters. Is abusing your children a private matter, taking advantage of a lower ranking woman in your military command, grouping a fellow female employee in the privacy of your office?????.
I believe the oath is "To tell the Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth". I thought not being completely truthful was perjury, especially by a person that is responsible for ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN THE UNITED STATES. President Truman, a great man of honor, stated THE BUCK STOPS HERE.
If the president can not obey the laws of this country, allow citizens their day in court without risking their jobs and reputations then he has violated that simple and short oath of office he has taken twice.
If you vote to NOT convict President Clinton, then you will have created a new class of American Citizenship, that of the Privileged Class, that is not subject to the same laws and consequences of violating the laws of this country. You may call them The Ruling Class. They are special people, they are smarter than the normal people, they know what is best for the citizens of this country, thus they are ABOVE THE LAW.
Read your History Senator, this marked the beginning of the end of many a civilization and empires, namely Rome. This was one of many reasons we had the Revolution. Ben Franklin observed a carving of a sunrise or a sunset on top of Gen. Washington's chair during the First Constitutional Convention. He contemplated if it symbolized the Sun Rising or the final sunset on the United States of America. I believe if you find the President not guilty and do not remove him from the office of the President, you will have doomed the United States and indeed allowed "The Sun to start Descending on the United States".
As a citizen of the United States and Maryland, I respectfully request your reasons in writing on why you did not vote to convict and remove President Clinton and how does this verdict affect the rest of the laws in the United States. If the President is not covered by the laws covering perjury and Obstruction of Justice are we the citizens also not required to obey these laws.
